ATHENA Recipients Shine at Tri-Cities Women in Business Conference
Tri-Cities, WA – The Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce presented the ATHENA Leadership® and ATHENA Young Professional® awards at the second annual Tri-Cities Women in Business Conference sponsored by Washington River Protection Solutions on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the TRAC Center in Pasco.
Paula Linnen of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and the recipient of the 2012 ATHENA Leadership Award®, presented on behalf of Battelle the 2013 ATHENA Leadership Award® to Khris Judy, President and Branch Manager of Randolph Construction Services. Khris demonstrated, through the nomination process, the level of professionalism required to receive the award based on several of her documented achievements including leading Randolph Construction Services from $3 million in annual sales upwards of $70 million from 2003 until the present time.
Nan Domenici of Kadlec Regional Medical Center presented the 2013 ATHENA Young Professional Award® to Jennifer Lenzi of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. Both of the 2013 award recipients were selected by the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce Awards and Recognition Committee. Jennifer received the award based on several components of nomination criteria including her demonstrated commitment to the Women Helping Women organization.
The ATHENA Leadership Award® is awarded to a woman who is honored for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills. The ATHENA Young Professional Award® is given to leaders that demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession.
“The recipients of this year’s awards are both very deserving individuals,” stated Lori Mattson, President and CEO of the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce. “These awards reflect the countless contributions and what the women in our community give to improve the quality of life for others. Khris and Jennifer are both outstanding role models for others to emulate.”
This year 232 women attended the all-day conference and 450 people attended the Network Tri-Cities Luncheon where the ATHENA awards were presented. “Fabulous seminars. Amazing women. This conference empowers me to improve my image for my career,” said Karla Beck, Estherbrook Inc. following the Tri-Cities Women in Business Conference.
