Petersen Hastings Wealth Advisors headquartered in Kennewick, Washington is proud to announce our ranking of #17 in the 2024 CNBC Financial Advisor Top 100 list.  In assembling this elite list, CNBC analyzes a variety of core data points to determine its list, such as the following: the firm’s number of years in business, compliance record, number of investment advisors registered with the firm, and assets under management, among other factors.  CNBC comments, “A financial advisor can play a major role in helping clients grow and protect their wealth.  The key is to find an advisor you trust, and it’s important to make sure they are someone who is a good match for you.  To be sure, financial advisors aren’t just for rich people — working with an advisor is a great choice for anyone who wants to get their personal finances on track and set long-term objectives.  The CNBC ranking is meant to be a starting point for individual investors who are looking for a financial advisor.  We hope this list will help to narrow your search.”

From an initial list of over 40,000 Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), CNBC, with the help of AccuPoint Solutions, narrowed the field to 812 firms that met their proprietary criteria.  Extensive surveys were completed and then verified by CNBC data and with the SEC regulatory database to narrow the field.  AccuPoint Solutions then applied CNBC’s proprietary weighted categories to further refine and rank the firms, ultimately creating the list of the top 100 firms.  CNBC receives no compensation or direct benefit from placing financial advisory firms on this annual ranking.

We are proud to be nationally recognized by CNBC," says Scott Sarber, CEO.  "Being selected as a “Top 100 firm” is a major achievement and a reflection of the dedicated team we’ve built to deliver personalized experiences that impact clients’ lives beyond just money.“

The City of Pasco is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Harkins as a Deputy Fire Chief for the Pasco Fire Department. Harkins officially began his role on September 3, bringing nearly three decades of experience in fire service to the community.

Harkins started his career in 1996 through the Portland Community College Fire Science program, where he gained hands-on experience interning with Clark County Fire District 12. This led to several part-time firefighter positions with multiple fire districts in the Clark-Cowlitz area. In 2000, he joined the Kennewick Fire Department, where he served for 24 years, most recently appointed as Battalion Chief in 2020.

“I am very passionate about the Fire Service, specifically our mission to help those in need and the operational skill set necessary to fulfill this duty effectively,” said Harkins. “I was drawn to the Pasco Fire Department by their reputation for mission-focused, all-hazard emergency response and prevention. I look forward to working with the Pasco team to continue providing excellent service to the residents and visitors of Pasco.”

In addition to his firefighting career, Harkins serves as a part-time instructor in the Fire Science program at Columbia Basin College, helping prepare the next generation of fire service professionals. Outside of work, Harkins enjoys spending time with his family on their hobby farm, raising cows, horses, and chickens. An avid outdoorsman, Harkins enjoys activities that involve family, the mountains, or the beach.

“We are excited to welcome Tim to our leadership team,” said Kevin Crowley, Pasco Fire Chief. “His extensive experience and passion for public service will undoubtedly strengthen our department and further enhance the quality of emergency response in Pasco.”

Harkins and his wife, Robynn, have been married for 26 years and have six children and three grandchildren. The City of Pasco is excited about the experience and leadership he brings to the Fire Department as it continues its commitment to providing exceptional emergency services.

Nonstop Service to Los Angeles on Alaska Airlines Takes off at Tri-Cities Airport

10/1/2024

The Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) is celebrating a milestone today: Alaska Airlines has launched service to a new destination out of PSC. This morning, Alaska Airlines’ first nonstop flight to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) departed, marking a significant moment for our region by providing a daily gateway to Southern California and strengthening access to the airline’s robust domestic and international flight network.

Alaska Airlines’ decision to launch this newest route out of PSC is a clear demonstration of the airline’s strategic investment in the Tri-Cities region. By adding this route to LAX, Alaska Airlines is not only expanding its presence but also responding to the growing demand from local travelers for more direct access to major markets.

“We are thrilled to bring this new service to PSC, one we know the community has been wanting for years,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines. “We see the potential of the Tri-Cities as we recognize the area’s increasing economic growth. The demand for daily access to Southern California has been clear, and we’re confident this nonstop flight will become a vital link for both leisure and business travelers.”

The LA Basin, previously the largest market without daily flights from PSC, is now just a few hours away. Passengers flying out of Tri-Cities can take advantage of LAX’s status as the busiest commercial airport on the West Coast, connecting seamlessly to key destinations across Latin America, Europe, Asia, and more.

“This route has been years in the making, and it was incredible to witness it become a reality today,” said Buck Taft, Director of Tri-Cities Airport. “With this new flight to Los Angeles, we’ve strengthened our ties and increased our connectivity to Mexico, including Guadalajara, which is one of the most popular destinations from PSC.”

“The launch of this daily flight to LAX is a huge win for both residents and businesses in our community,” said President and CEO of Tri-City Development Council (TRIDEC) Karl Dye. “Daily access to the LA Basin opens up opportunities for employers who may want to relocate to the Columbia Basin as they now have an easy way to travel between our two markets.”

This new route is a direct reflection of PSC's substantial growth. Last year was the airport’s busiest on record, with approximately 873,000 passengers passing through its gates. The Alaska Airlines flight to LAX is part of a string of new and expanded routes that have launched in 2024, following American Airlines’ twice-daily service to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and Avelo Airlines’ four-weekly flights to Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR).

Alaska Airlines will serve the PSC-LAX route on a three-class Embraer 175, with 76 seats. Tickets are on sale now at alaskaair.com.
