The City of Pasco invites residents and stakeholders to participate in two upcoming listening sessions to provide input on the development of a user guide for the City's Shoreline Master Program (SMP). The SMP is a planning and regulatory document required by the Washington State Shoreline Management Act (SMA) and updated every 10 years. The SMA is intended to help balance environmental protection with public access and water use.
The user guide aims to assist the public in understanding critical components of the SMP, which governs the management, access, and protection of Pasco's shorelines. Listening Session Details:
The draft SMP User Guide is available for review on the City's website at https://www.pasco-wa.gov/858/Shoreline-Master-Program. Residents are encouraged to review the document prior to the listening sessions.
