The City of Richland is inviting residents to participate in a community survey as part of the update to its Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces (PROS) Plan. Updated every six years, the PROS Plan serves as the City’s blueprint for enhancing parks, trails, open spaces, recreation facilities, and programming. This update is a key component of “Future in Focus”, the City’s coordinated effort to align major long-range plans and create one bold vision for Richland’s future.
The survey will help identify how residents use the park system today, what’s missing, and which improvements should be prioritized in the years ahead. Results will guide future investments to ensure Richland’s parks and recreation services reflect community values, respond to emerging trends, and provide equitable access for all. “We are asking residents to take a few minutes to share their voice,” said Chris Waite, Parks & Public Facilities Director. “Whether you play sports, walk the trails, attend events, or simply enjoy a peaceful green space, your feedback will directly influence the future of our parks and programs.” The community survey is available online now at bit.ly/RichlandPROSCommunitySurvey and will remain open through Friday, August, 29, 2025. All Richland residents are encouraged to participate and share the survey with neighbors, friends, and family. For more information about the PROS Plan or to get involved in upcoming events, visit www.ci.richland.wa.us/PROSPlan or contact the City of Richland Parks & Public Facilities Department at [email protected].
