Trios Health will host a blood drive with the American Red Cross on Monday, September 14, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Trios Care Center at Southridge. Community members are invited to join Trios staff in rolling up their sleeves and giving this life saving donation.
“A blood donation is a meaningful way to support patients when they need it most,” said Jean Lewis, Trios Health Laboratory Director. “From emergency care to surgeries and ongoing treatments, donated blood plays an important role in helping hospitals care for the people they serve.” Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross. “We encourage community members to make an appointment and help keep lifesaving blood available for patients in our region,” Lewis said. “Taking time to donate can make a real difference for someone facing an unexpected medical need.” According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative. Appointments are needed to participate in the Blood Drive. For more information and to make an appointment, go to https://bit.ly/4h5nTEz
