Monthly Membership Luncheons
With 250-500 business men and women in attendance, Monthly Membership Luncheons take place the fourth Wednesday of every month and feature topics important to our region and business community.
Description:
In 1935, the Columbia Basin Project (CBP) was created to bring more reliable and efficient irrigation watering to the farms and land of the Mid-Columbia Basin. Nearly 700,000 acres has been fully developed and irrigated, but over 300,000 acres await the infrastructure needed to supply a reliable source of irrigation water to expand food production and security, and to sustain and grow economic vitality. The Columbia Basin Project is a public benefit which needs support and advocacy for completion. Vicky Scharlau, Executive Director of the Columbia Basin Development League, will speak on the project’s challenges, timeline, accomplishments, and future potential.
