A new monthly workshop series in the Tri-cities strives to educate people on vital workplace topics. The "Ask the Experts" session, sponsored by STCU, will feature Elizabeth Barnes, Chief of Staff at Christensen, Inc.; Jan Peterson, District Manager at Starbucks; and Carly Rooney, Store Manager at Kennewick Walmart. According to the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce, these experts will discuss strategies to enhance collaboration and communication across different generations in the workplace.

The chamber said in its release that businesses eligible for award categories must:

• Demonstrate growth
  
• Actively seek involvement in the community
• Receive recognition as a model business for others through national or industry awards

The Spirit of Tri-Cities Award will be presented during the Regional Chamber’s Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon on March 26 at Three Rivers Convention Center. Award recipients must be present at the luncheon to receive the award.

The biggest Women in Business Career Conference in Eastern Washington took place Tuesday. Hundreds of women came together at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick to celebrate local women in business and host the Athena Awards Luncheon. During the luncheon, two local women were awarded with the Athena Leadership Award. Apple Valley News Now spoke with City of Pasco Council woman Blanche Barajas and she said events like these make a big difference.

Small business owners in the Tri-Cities are invited to register for a free small business resource fair on Wed., Sept. 11 in Kennewick, hosted by the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Several exhibitors will be in attendance to provide resources to help small businesses succeed, including the Small Business Administration, the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Washington State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and more.
