Beginning March 9, changes to Ben Franklin Transit bus routes in Pasco, Richland, Kennewick, West Richland, Benton City, and Prosser will take effect. The changes are intended to minimize redundancies between routes while increasing frequency and service hours in certain areas. The following summarizes these changes.
Route 268 – NEW ROUTE: Route 268, which replaces former Route 68 effective March 9, and existing Route 225 combine efforts to extend service throughout Pasco and into Richland. Frequency will increase to every 15 minutes at certain locations and will operate Monday through Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Route 268 will not operate on Saturday. Schools served by this route: Rowena Chess Elementary, Stevens Middle School, Emerson Elementary, Robert Frost Elementary, New Horizons High School, Columbia Basin College, Chiawana High School, Ruth Livingston Elementary, McLoughlin Middle School, Tri-City Prep Route 120 – LATER TRIPS ADDED: Route 120 westbound adds trips at 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. from Three Rivers Transit Center Monday through Friday. Route 120 eastbound adds trips at 8:45 p.m., 9:15 p.m., and 9:45 p.m. from Knight Street Transit Center Monday through Friday. Route 126: Route 126 increases frequency on Saturdays to every 30 minutes. Route 126 discontinues the 9:45 p.m. northbound trip out of Knight Street Transit Center Monday through Friday. Route 170 – LATER TRIP ADDED: Route 170 westbound adds a 7:15 p.m. trip leaving from Knight Street Transit Center Monday through Saturday. The 5:25 p.m. departure from Knight Street Transit Center will change to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Saturday beginning March 9. Route 25: Route 25 discontinues trips at 8:45 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.
