The Academy of Children’s Theatre is performing a musical production of Disney’s “Freaky Friday” for two consecutive weekends beginning February 21. The show performs on February 21 and 29 at 7 p.m. and on February 22, 23, 29, and March 1 at 3 p.m. All performances or at the ACT studio, located at 213 Wellsian Way in Richland.
Based on Broadway’s Disney musical version of “Freaky Friday”, the cast features 34 youth actors and six adults. In the lead role as Ellie is Tayler Riley, who follows in the famous footsteps of Jodie Foster and Lindsey Lohan. Playing her mother Catherine is Ann Archer. Director is Josh Darby. The warm-hearted and hilarious plot explores the adventures the mother and daughter experience when they magically swap bodies and have just one day to put things right. Masquerading as each other, they must work together to solve the mystery of how to break the spell. By spending a day in each other’s shoes, both learn the true power of love and the strength of the bond between a mother and daughter in this engaging musical production.
