Did you know Mid-Columbia Libraries is able to provide popular and relevant programs for the community, such as this fall’s visit by international bestselling author Emily St. John Mandel, thanks in part to the ongoing support of the Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries?
The FOL raises a large part of its funds at its semi-annual used book sales. The FOL’s fall Giant Book Sale is Oct. 25-28 at Mid-Columbia Libraries’ Kennewick Branch, located at 1620 S. Union St. in Kennewick. FOL members get first access on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 6:30 pm. The sale opens to the public on Friday, Oct. 26 from 9 am to 5:30 pm and continues Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday, Oct. 28 from 1 to 4 pm. All items are discounted 50 percent on Sunday. A variety of books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, and more will be available, and prices range from $0.25 to $2 per item unless otherwise marked. FOL accepts debit and credit card payments. The cost of an FOL membership is $5 a year, and new members can sign up at the door or online.
