Pickleball fever has swept the nation, quickly becoming the fastest growing sport in America and now the official state sport of Washington. Please join us on Saturday, June 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lawrence Scott Park as we open the largest outdoor Pickleball complex in the State of Washington. With the addition of 12 new championship quality courts combined with 3 existing courts, this complex makes Kennewick the Pickleball capital of the State. A 74 foot by 45 foot picnic shelter pavilion and new restroom complement the new courts.
Community members, sponsors, and dignitaries will share how this dream became a reality. The project was partially funded with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars, but is a true community partnership with funding coming from Toyota of Tri-Cities, Retter & Company Sotheby’s International Realty, and Club 509 Pickleball. The first 100 people get their choice of 2 free tamales from Miss Tamale or a shaved ice cup from Kona Ice. This is also your chance to learn the basics of Pickleball with Club 509 Pickleball offering free instruction. Mayor McKay alongside sponsors and City staff will play the first game, and officially open the complex for play after a short speaking agenda. Lawrence Scott Park is located at 6020 W. Quinault, Kennewick, WA 99336. For more information, please contact Nick Farline at 509-585-4544 or [email protected].
