HAPO Community Credit Union and Gesa Credit Union are joining forces and partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank to help feed local children in need. Both Credit Unions will be accepting food and dollar donations at each Tri-Cities location starting July 1st with both matching up to $10,000 in monetary donations each The non-perishable food items will provide nutrition to children in the Tri-City communities. In addition to donations, the HAPO and Gesa teams will also be assembling packs of food to distribute in local schools to children in need.
Teaming up with Second Harvest will allow HAPO and Gesa to contribute funds and food to our community and directly support the mission of Second Harvest, which fights to stop hunger. For every dollar donated, five meals can be made. “It’s our pleasure to unite with our friends at Gesa to help fight hunger in the Tri-Cities” says Steve Anderson, HAPO President and CEO. “Over the years Gesa and HAPO have had a positive impact on our communities and our teams are excited to “Partner for a Purpose,” said Don Miller, Gesa President and CEO. “Our teams working together truly shows the credit union philosophy.” Both Credit Unions have been serving the Tri-Cities community since 1953, and are among some of the state’s largest credit unions.
