Mid-Columbia Libraries’ Benton and Franklin County Branches Begin Opening for Curbside Pickup8/17/2020 Today, Mid-Columbia Libraries’ (MCL) Basin City, Kahlotus, Merrill’s Corner, Pasco, West Pasco, and West Richland branches opened for contactless curbside pickup and returns for the first time since temporarily closing in March.
The Benton City library will open Aug. 15; the Bookmobile and Connell, Keewaydin Park, Kennewick, and Prosser branches are targeting opening on Aug. 17. Customers should put books and materials on hold using the online catalog at midcolumbialibraries.org. Customers will receive a notification by text, email, or phone once items are ready for pickup. More details are available at midcolumbialibraries.org/curbside-pickup. On Aug. 7, the Benton-Franklin Health District approved MCL to offer curbside pickup services at its 11 branches and Bookmobile in Benton and Franklin counties under the current Modified Safe Start Plan. The health and safety of library staff and customers is of the highest importance. The library is complying with all safety requirements from the State and will implement a 96-hour quarantine of returned materials based on the latest research in Battelle's REALM study. Customers can check the library website, midcolumbialibraries.org, and Facebook page for updates.
