Prosser Memorial is excited to welcome Geoffrey B. Higgs, MD, to the team of providers at Prosser Orthopedic Center! Dr. Higgs brings more than 30 years of impressive medical experience focused on sports medicine. Some of the titles he’s held over his career include military orthopedic surgeon, team physician for several professional and collegiate sport teams, and founder of a private practice. His career also consists of a multitude of certifications, publications, and recognitions, and he continues to conduct a variety of medical research projects. Dr. Higgs received his PhD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, after having received a bachelor’s in engineering from the University of Virginia. He was motivated to change career paths after a football injury put him in the hands of an orthopedic that gave him caring, compassionate care. This experience made him realize that he wanted to provide that same care to other athletes and patients. Dr. Higgs has found himself in Prosser after having left his mark in Virginia, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, and California. He even spent some time in South Korea and Germany during his military service. The Pacific Northwest was really the only place he hadn’t touched. So, when Prosser Memorial came calling, he answered! Which is a perfect place for Dr. Higgs to enjoy all his favorite outdoor activities and find plenty of inspiration for his artistic hobbies. And we couldn’t be more honored to have him serve and care for our communities! PMH is thrilled to have Dr. Higgs contribute and help build our orthopedic center. His services include orthopedic surgery, sports medicine injuries, arthroscopic surgery, knee meniscus repair, and more.
